What We Do

Essentially The Travelling Tea Party does two things - we bake delicious cakes for you to eat, and hire out our very pretty vintage china. We bake large cakes, loaf cakes, cupcakes, tarts, pies, pastries and other delicacies designed to make your mouth water. We also create mouthwatering sandwiches with morish fillings - a must for your tea party. You can buy our cakes direct from us or order them as part of a tea party extravaganza. Our magpie tendancies have led The Travelling Tea Party to build up an extensive collection of vintage china and accessories that you can hire from us for your event or celebration.

Carrie-Ann and Lisa started The Travelling Tea Party in Spring 2011 as a way to bring their cakes to the masses. With a penchant for traditional baking and recipes, the girls soon realised what they produced dovetailed very well with the vintage trend. What started was a focused campaign to raid the local charity shops, boot fairs and auction rooms to source the most delicate and pretty vintage china and accessories to ensure your tea party looks the part.

The proof is in the pudding, as they say, so why not place an order today? Contact us at info@travellingteaparty.com or use our online contact form.

Our Inspiration

Picture

Lisa Leslie

“Baking has always played a big part in my life and some of my fondest memories are making rock cakes and jam tarts with my Mum. Together with my Nan and my Aunt, my Mum ensured that a slice of cake and a cup of tea was and still is a family ritual. I love the fact my Nan took my Mum as a child – in their Sunday best – to London to take afternoon tea in the Lyons Corner Houses. Later in life, my Mum used to dream of opening a tea room with her friend. I’m now bringing a little bit of that dream to life with The Travelling Tea Party!”

Carrie-Ann Skinner

“From as far back as I can remember my Nan and my Mum were always in the kitchen, baking. This meant a huge chunk of my childhood was spent helping them. As I got older, I was determined not to lose the skills I developed, as so many of my friends had. I continued to bake as often as possible, developing old favourites and trying my hand at new recipes - much to the delight of my friends. I find baking incredibly therapeutic but my inspiration mostly comes from the smiles raised when I arrive somewhere laden with cake.”
